Malawi Project

Glasgow the Caring City has been working in Malawi since 2003.

Our aims in Malawi are to:

  • Increase access to education and healthcare for local communities
  • Develop infrastructure to assist local and regional development

To date Glasgow the Caring City has been instrumental in the creation or development of:

  • The David Livingston Memorial Clinic
  • The Gorodi Road Development (linking communities to health centers)
  • The modernisation of Lilongwe Fire & Rescue Service
  • Improvement of Service & Facilities at Bottom Hospital
  • Planning, Construction and Equipping of Kaponda Village
  • The Development of Supply Chains for NGO's working in Malawi

Our commitment to Malawi is to create a legacy of 'actual and physical' improvements, which are tangible in the short, medium, and long term.

Through strong partnerships, current and past, with groups such as World Emergency Relief, Strathclyde University, The Cunningham Foundation, ADRA, Lothian & Border Fire Service and others, we have created a strong, global partnership for change.

Glasgow the Caring City is currently involved in several projects, developing education in Malawi, with the Cunningham Foundation and local Educational Partners
